Live bus arrivals, from the database through to the plate on the stop.

What it is
A site that shows where the bus is and how long it takes to arrive, with QR plates mounted on the stops themselves.
The need
Anyone waiting at a stop rarely knows what passes there or when. The information exists, just not at the point and the moment it is needed, and nobody installs an app while waiting.
What we did
We modelled the route and stop data, built the application to open straight from a phone with nothing to install, and produced the plates ourselves: design, weather-resistant material, metal strapping, mounted on site.
The outcome
92% of visits come from a phone, which means people opening it while standing at the stop. At the end of August, as the season opened, daily use went up sixfold within three days, with nothing spent on advertising.
